Well-backed to win at Chester when just failing to get up over further, KINGSTONIAN could show the benefit of that return and McMonagle keeps the faith. Whimsy is a very consistent mare on the Flat and is a good each-way option. Westminster Moon caught the eye last time and is worth a market check. Kilmeaden, Granite Bay and Marazion are others of interest. It will be no surprise if last year's winner Robbies Rock leaves an exceedingly poor seasonal return behind him. [Denis Harney] Show less
Spotlight: Three-time winner over hurdles has a 1-5 record on the level in France, winning over 1m4f on good ground; a bit below his best at Punchestown last time when seventh of 17 in a Listed handicap hurdle; interesting contender but others preferred.
Spotlight: Well-backed to make it a successful stable debut at Chester (2m3f, good) when the line came too soon; previously won a Tramore maiden (1m4f, good to yielding) for Jessica Harrington; up 3lb for his Chester exertions but the choice of McMonagle and could improve over that seasonal return.
Spotlight: Winner of a Galway festival handicap off 82 in July (1m5f, yielding), beating a subsequent Group 3 winner; added a hurdles win in a Punchestown maiden in January (2m, soft to heavy); never on terms on return to the Flat at Cork last time when seventh.
Spotlight: Makes her handicap debut off the back of gaining her first maiden win on her eighth career start at Roscommon last time (1m4f, good); her opening mark looks fair on what she has achieved; in the mix.
Spotlight: Good form on the Flat when last seen, taking third at Listowel before winning at 4-11 in a Bellewstown conditions race; more impressive was his head victory back at Listowel in September (1m6f, good to yielding); however, top weight and stable have better candidates.
Spotlight: Decent efforts in three maidens here last term and ran a decent race here on handicap debut in March when fifth of 14 (1m4f, soft to heavy); improved upon encountering good to yielding ground at Navan last time when second of 23 behind an easy winner; tries this new trip and not discounted.
Spotlight: Got off the mark in a 1m4f Fairyhouse maiden in June having been third in a quality Navan Listed race the time before; heavy ground a possible excuse when disappointing off top weight at Listowel in September; gelded since and he went close on his seasonal return last year.
Spotlight: Won this last year off 78 to notch his second Flat win in first-time cheekpieces; no surprise to see him leave his exceedingly moderate Gowran return behind back on good ground with the cheekpieces back on.
Spotlight: Record of 1-9 on Flat with the win coming at Navan last June (1m6f, good) off 73; good hurdler and added a fourth win in that sphere at Killarney last time; not discounted.
Spotlight: Dual Flat winner returns to this sphere for the first time since a midfield finish at Laytown in September (7f); must bounce back from a moderate run over fences at Wexford last time.
Spotlight: Capable under both codes, with dual wins in each; won a Killarney handicap in August and was a distant runner-up at Newmarket in September (8l behind Reverend Hubert); finished seventh in this race last year, and may need this comeback run once again.
Spotlight: Added a third Flat win at Navan last time (1m5f, good) in a big field by a neck; had Trubshaw 5.5l behind that day; up 5lb but should remain competitive; has never raced at this track.
Spotlight: Two wins last season, both of them under today's rider and the second of which arrived over C&D (yielding); creditable enough seasonal return off 9lb higher at Navan when a 5.5l eighth of 20, shaping as though he would improve for the run; in the mix.
Spotlight: Drew 8l clear in Cesarewitch trial at Newmarket in September (2m2f, good); couldn't follow up in the real thing when sixth of 19; up 10lb compared to his last win and he has never won after an absence before.
Spotlight: Four-time winner in Poland at up to 1m4f and placed in German Group 1 and Italian Group 2 in 2024; not fired since joining current yard, but his run at Cork last time when running on for seventh (1m3f, good to yielding) was eye-catching; check market.
Spotlight: All her best form has been at Down Royal, a win and two seconds; should appreciate better ground, but lacks a run.
Spotlight: Dual-purpose sort's sole Flat win came on the AW; best run on turf was a 2l fourth off 1lb lower on latest in the Ulster Cesarewitch at Down Royal (2m3f, good); may need this after 261 days away; cheekpieces go on.
Spotlight: Lightly-raced 4yo was 0-5 in maidens last year but showed a fair level of ability each time; shaped as though he would improve over seasonal return/handicap debut at Ballinrobe (1m5f, good to yielding) when fading into seventh.
Spotlight: Bellewstown maiden winner in July (1m4f, good); her seasonal return at Cork was not encouraging, nor was her handicap debut at Dundalk in October; hood on now; stable has better candidates.
Spotlight: Four wins on the AW, has only raced five times on turf; plenty to prove on this surface.
Spotlight: Notched a three-timer last summer with wins at Bellewstown (1m7f, good), Ballinrobe (1m5f, good to yielding) and Galway (1m6f, yielding); made a moderate return at Ballinrobe last time and regular rider Patrick McGettigan is not aboard.
Spotlight: Sole win on Flat came in 2023, although has mostly been competing over hurdles in recent times; improved markedly over poor Navan return when fourth at Roscommon last time (1m4f, good), staying on after being slowly away; down to a career low mark.
Spotlight: Has only had one Flat run on turf; fair performer at up to 2m on AW at Dundalk, maiden winner (1m4f) and placed twice, including when third off this mark in October (1m4f); should be suited by ground conditions.
Spotlight: Dual-purpose sort won twice on the level last season at Tipperary and Bellewstown over an extended 1m4f on softish ground; tailed off over hurdles at Fairyhouse when last seen and 3lb wrong.
